These art classes are available for all ages. The focus is to keep it interesting for everyone. While one is having fun of doing art, he/she is also learning and excel. Mediums include pencil, wax crayons, watercolor, oil pastel, acrylic and clay. Some of the skills that the students will learn are: cartoon drawing, basic shading, still life, landscape, and portrait. Beside learning art techniques like value and composing art work, students will also learn observing, and self critique. They will develop leadership, friendship building, confidence and self esteem. These principles not only apply in art, but also in school, work, and life in general.
Note: Students are responsible to bring their own materials. Most of the material could be purchased in Dollar Stores except a few items like: a kneading eraser, paper stump, oil pastel and acrylic. To keep the students engaged, they will have opportunities to try different mediums to expand their experiences. They may also have the opportunity to showcase their work in public when the opportunity arises.
